About us ...
In 1998, Western Stamp Company "opened its doors" as a mail order stamp dealership, with Dan and Stephanie Nieuwlandt as the owners. Dan has been a collector since age 11 (almost 50 years ago!) when he received a worldwide stamp album (Harris Statesman) and a packet of stamps as a birthday gift. He is still actively collecting worldwide stamps, specializing in selected countries and several topical categories. Stephanie's "collection" is our inventory. She does most of the stamp scanning for our web site and assists with bookkeeping.
Our early mail order dealership focused on classic to modern U.S. stamps. Our customers from this time will recall our detailed price lists. In 2007, we ventured on-line as The Collectible Stamps Gallery (a DBA of Western Stamp Company). The focus of The Collectible Stamps Gallery has been topical and thematic stamps, both foreign and U.S.
In late November of 2019, our web host was "hacked," resulting in the loss of our web site and an inability to transfer our domain name (this web host disappeared). We took this as an opportunity to completely update our web site; it is now a "responsive design" that should perform well on computer screens, tablets and smart phones. We also decided to revert to our original business name: Western Stamp Company. This permitted a consolidation of accounts (bank, merchant credit card, PayPal) and provides shorter web and email addresses.
We re-launched our web site (with a new reliable web host) in May, 2020. Each of our thousands of stamp listings were reformatted to yield a consistent listing format that works well with our new web design (a very large effort!).
We continue to add hundreds of new stamp listings each month. Be sure to click on "New Listings" to view these recent additions. As before, stamps included in our "New Listings" category will remain there for six weeks. Click on "All Special Offers" to peruse our heavily discounted stamp offerings.
Thank you for your continued business!
